Coach pushing a student into a wave
JACKING HORSE · MID TIDE

The method

Sand first

Wave reading, tides, safety and pop-up drills on the beach — 20 minutes that save you an hour of wipeouts.

In the water

Solo or small group. We position you, call your waves and push you in until you're paddling into your own.

Right spot, right tide

Siargao has 10+ breaks around GL. We go where your level meets the day's conditions — never the other way.

Debrief

Every lesson ends with what to work on next. Filmed packages include a video breakdown on the sand.

Your level, your spot

Beginner

Soft rolling waves on a longboard. First pop-ups, whitewater rides, ocean confidence.

Spots — Jacking Horse & the gentle inside breaks

Intermediate

Green waves, reef take-offs, positioning in the lineup, rail-to-rail basics.

Spots — Quiksilver · Tuason

Kids & families

Kids can surf — 100% yes. Our instructors are experienced in teaching young surfers, on the softest waves of the day.

Weather policy

If conditions turn dangerous, we reschedule free — same trip or full refund of any deposit. Rain doesn't cancel a session; unsafe swell does. You'll never be pushed into water you're not ready for.

Questions, answered

Do I need to know how to swim?
Yes — you should be comfortable in open water. You don't need to be fast, just calm. Beginners stay where you can often touch the bottom.
What's the best season?
Swell season runs September–May, but Siargao has gentle learner waves year-round. For a first lesson, any month works — we pick the tide window.
Can you film my lesson?
Yes — add random drone shots for ₱500 per person, or book the private drone package (₱3,500 / hour, up to 3 surfers). Advance booking needed so we can schedule the pilot. There's also the photography option: ₱500 / hour, unlimited shots on your own phone.
What should I bring?
Swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, water. The board is included — surf shoes, rashguards and hats are available for rent, and lockers cost ₱50.
Do you do group lessons?
Yes — solo or group sessions are both welcome, same ₱600 / hour per person rate. Tell us your group size in the brief and we'll set up enough instructors.
How do I pay?
Cash or cashless — we accept GCash, BPI and BDO transfers.
What if it rains?
We surf — rain is part of island life and often means glassy water. Only unsafe conditions reschedule a session.
